Up All Night

Maryn had a couple of her immunizations on Friday and as a result had a very difficult Saturday night. She woke up about 11:30, couldn't get back to sleep, wasn't eating much and actually threw up -- unheard of for her. Her condition puts her at a higher risk for seizures, so whenever she's not acting like herself we get a bit nervous. As you can imagine there wasn't much sleep to be had in this house last night. Mike and I were so relieved to see the fever gone this morning. Hopefully we'll all get a good nap in today.

5 months until Christmas ...

... I guess that means someone is already 7 months old!

Another Month

Another pound. Little Ryn is now just shy of 15 pounds.
These pictures are a couple of weeks old. Hopefully we'll have new ones to share tomorrow.

Night at Ravinia

Mike and I have always enjoyed spending summer evenings at this beautiful outdoor venue. And while children are welcome we hadn't yet got up the courage to brave the hour long car ride and the potential fussiness that may follow. She handled it great, though. Ahhh ...a cool night with minimal crowds spent sipping a glass of red and listing to a world class pianist while Maryn snoozed on the blanket. What a perfect way to start off the holiday weekend.

Neuro Follow Up

Maryn had her 3rd appointment with the pediatric neurologist this morning. The Dr did a thorough evaluation and found her to be progressing normally. She was alert and happy at the appointment and performed each task he asked of her. He is comfortable with our decision regarding the g-tube as long as she continues to gain and he was pleased to hear she is still meeting with a physical therapist weekly. She'll return for another follow-up appointment just before her 1st birthday.

Sweet Pea & Potatoes

Solid foods are now on the menu! And while she is making progress it seems to be more of a kind of art performance in body, clothing and floor painting than one of nutritional sustenance. Sometime in the near future more of the food will make it to her stomach, I hope. She could certainly use the extra calories.
