Ergo we go...
...into the world of baby wearing! Outside of her play time Maryn naps better and is generally happier during the day when we are holding her. And although we enjoy holding her, staring into her little face and taking in her new baby smell ... nothing else seemed to get done. This was until we thought about using our amazing baby carrier (merci Anjie & Eric) in the house. What a difference the Ergo makes! Bills & laundry? Mike's got it covered. Sweeping, e-mail & washing bottles (no, we don't have a dishwasher)? No problem. Now if I could only figure out a way to pump with it on.

No Licky
Maddie, our 4 year old boxer-lab mix, is adjusting to no longer being the youngest in the house. This overly affectionate dog has shown incredible restraint with the baby. I'm sure she'd love nothing more than to lick Maryn for 10 straight minutes, but she realizes it wouldn't fly with us. Instead she steals a quick sniff of her onesie or licks the pack-and-play once or twice while Maryn naps inside. Previously so terrified of the vacuum cleaner that she would leave the room whenever it was on, Maddy now stands bravely a few feet away watching as it roars loudly soothing our baby girl down from a crying fit. What a good pup.

Pretty in Pink
Hello Sweatshirt, yet again
Here I am in my Northern sweatshirt with my baby girl the day after she came home. Many of you are quite familiar with my red uniform by now. For those of you lucky enough not to see me on multiple occasions sporting this lovely ensemble, it was really the only thing that fit comfortably near the end of my pregnancy. I just couldn't bring myself to buy more maternity clothes so close to the end. Granted, I tried to avoid buying much of anything attire related throughout my pregnancy. Which is why I also wore my winter coat unbuttoned during what ended up being the coldest fall/winter Chicago land has seen in some time! Now, almost two months post pregnancy, I still find the sweatshirt very cozy. I do recognize that I have a problem and am doing my best to move it out of my weekly rotation. I appreciate your support.
