More Fink Visit Picts

Nieka, Owen and I took in the Children's Museum one morning while they were in town. Owen was especially fond of the water tables. He spent nearly an hour constructing pipelines to transport water from one side to the other. Later, after a few minutes of trial and error he mastered the bubble corner. Groups of older kids looked on as he swung the bubble wand to release huge jiggling soapy spheres into the air.

The kids and I finished off the afternoon relaxing at Grandpa's while he and Nieka played 9 holes of golf.

I'm so glad they were able to come up for a visit. Hopefully we'll see them again soon.

Pack, Move, Unpack, Clean, Organize, Repeat

...a succinct summary of the events of the past week and a 1/2. Just shy of 3 months since the work began we are officially back home! Our newly renovated house is quite different but is already feeling more like home than it ever did before.
I couldn't resist taking a break from cleaning house to clean my baby girl in our new kitchen sink. It's a bit kinder on the back (mine anyway) than the tub and she enjoys having the duckies within arms reach. It won't be long before she's too big, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

Some Hotel Downtime

Maryn and I accompanied Michael on another of his board meeting trips over the weekend. This was her 3rd flight, but it was much longer than the other two. She handled it well, but as with most young kids, a coordinated entertainment effort on our part played a big role. I can't imagine what it would have been like if we had booked that trip to Thailand this past December. The thought of entertaining her for 17 hours is completely exhausting. Whew ...kinda glad we decided against it.

Once in San Diego I was able to bring her with me to the board partner meetings, but I couldn't bring her to the fancy dinners provided by the organization. Fortunately, Mike's cousin Greta was kind enough to give up a few hours of her b-day weekend to watch Maryn so I could attend the Saturday dinner with Mike. Thanks Greta!
We packed light so she didn't have a lot of toy options, but she did just fine with what we had. Here she is in the hotel having a grand time with some flashcards. She enjoys taking them out of the box and throwing them on the floor. It's cute, she has favorites ... the baby, the tractor, and as you can see ... the mirror.
