March Madness

Her hair is getting longer

We put a blanket on the grass and had our picnic right here

all buckled and ready to go with a slight milk mustache
I was referring to the weather here lately, not basketball, when I titled this post. So it's not in the 80's today, but mid 70's with sun and deep blue skies. Next week I'm told things will get much closer to normal for this time of year. We had a good run while it lasted -2 weeks of summer!

We all spent a few hours at the arboretum. A picnic lunch, a stroll around the pond and through the Children's Garden, a milk mustache and 2 tired kids later we headed back home.

Other memorable moments from the week? A visit from Granny which typically means Mike and I get a date -thanks Granny! Grocery shopping at Trader Joe's which delights Maryn to no end as she gets to help and push her own child size cart.  A fairly brief bought with some sort of stomach bug for both girls-yuck! Time spent pushing/pulling/driving each of the outside toys that have somehow accumulated in 1/2 of our garage-how did this happen? A jayhawk victory- thank goodness. And a delicious meal at 34th Street Fishery with the freshest most amazing halibut ever!

And now spring break is officially here and it's funny to say it but I'm not really looking forward to spring weather.

Day 8 of Record Breaking Temperatures; Another early morning playtime spent outside

II'm trying to remember ... I think it was last Tuesday when this heat wave started. Tuesday and Wednesday of last week were in the low to mid 70's and it just kept climbing from there. Today 86 is the predicted high! I'm sure it can't last much longer, but it will be a rude awakening when the norm of temps in the 40's returns.

Resale Finds

I went to a huge  kid's resale last weekend and scored some fun, inexpensive stuff. The sale is organized by 4 separate multiples organizations at the County Fairgrounds twice a year (March & September). So there are 3 buildings on the fairgrounds full of kid's toys, clothes, furniture, bedding, books, games, etc. I've been before, but this time I was able to go the night before the sale was open to the public as my friend has twins and is a member. Woo Hoo! She got some great stuff too!

Above is a kitchen I actually picked up for a work friend. I decided to let the girls play with it over the weekend and they were having so much fun! They do have their own kitchen but it doesn't have as many drawers and cabinets.

Below are the girls with their new plasmacar. They are a little young for it, but that didn't stop them.

I know I keep saying it, but every day they are closer and closer in size

A Random Collection of Photos ...

that I've taken over the last couple of weeks. I have a few more, perhaps I'll get to those tomorrow or early next week. I'm not sure why, but the camera hasn't been out as much lately. I'm sure that will change as the weather continues to get warmer.
