Maryn had a follow up appt. with the pediatric cardiologist on Monday. He had seen her in the NICU but we needed him to clear her for surgery. The hole in her heart hasn't closed completely yet, but this isn't that uncommon. He explained this would not impact her ability to gain weight and cleared her for the g-tube surgery. We see him again in a year.Today we took her to the pediatrician for another weight check. Drum roll please ...She has gained over a pound in the last two weeks!!! And we haven't even seen the nutritionist yet--she's coming out this Thursday.
Her weight gain is back on track. The pediatrician recommended we call the GI doctor to cancel the surgery!
She's getting longer too...just short of 25 inches.
She wore her Star Wars shirt for the first time today...must be good luck. This shirt belonged to my little brother (almost 26 years old) when he was a baby. Thanks Kirk!
